Spotlight on the Silky Top
With its bold asymmetric design, the Silky, named after its fabric which is created with a knitted crushed silk yarn, is one of Bill’s favourites and certainly one we had to include in our recent photoshoot at the Kingsknowes Hotel in the Scottish borders. The Silky Top was a design brought into the workshop a few years ago now and always catches customers attention!
A bright and casual sleeveless top knitted in one of our favourite yarns – a silk & wool blend from Spain.
The little overhanging cap at the shoulder gives us a neat profile with a broad shoulder and wide but shallow neck. Ample and roomy the Silky Top is designed to be easy to wear in any number of ways.
We like them as Tee shirts over leggings & jeans – but they are equally versatile as a more formal addition to an evening outfit where the bold diagonal stripe across the body adds some ‘statement’ to whatever you are wearing.
At the hem we have a narrow ribbed band which adds a little structure giving the whole garment a nice hang while the silky yarn has a soft feel with a little stiffness that will hold its shape well.
