Spotlight on the Donegal Cape

This week we are featuring the Donegal Wool Cape, knitted in our Old Town Workshop in Edinburgh. The Donegal merino wool, linen & cotton cape is a lovely combination of Celtic influences. The wool is spun in Donegal and features all the lovely richness and character from Ireland. We combine and contrast that with the lightness and vibrant colour from the linen/cotton yarn.

Our Poncho inspired shape is one size fits most and very flattering on, its diagonally worn so longer in the front and back while leaving your arms free.

Silver Donegal Cape

This garment is one for the cooler months, a warmer and heavier garment than our other Capes, it still keeps a lightness with the linen woven through it.

The Donegal yarn is particularly lovely, with flecks of colour throughout. It creates a rich, tweed like texture and allows us to build gorgeous colour ways using the linen as the complementing colour. We have a wide range in our workshop and an online collection found here. We have created a matching Snood scarf for each of our Donegal Cape colours as seen on our website here, the two look great together and make an elegant winter outfit.

Mustard Donegal Cape & Snood Set

A stylish and elegant shawl that can transform the simplest of outfits. Could be worn over almost any combination of tops, dresses and coats in a similar fashion to a pashmina. Or, team it up with one of our other pieces and take advantage of our complimentary colour palette.
