Spotlight on the Argyll

The Argyll was the breakout style of Autumn/Winter 2018 and has kept going strong ever since! We knit them in a Donegal spun Merino wool for all the character and warmth we can muster, and you’ll love the feel of it when you try one on. Loose fitting and with only the slightest of side seams, this style hovers somewhere between a Pullover and a Shawl. One for the cooler months, this style sits somewhere between a shawl and pullover. Loose fitting with a raglan shaped shoulder, wide tapered body shape, and ribbed cowl neck the Argyll is perfect for wrapping up against the cold.

One size fits all with a three quarter length sleeve and short side seam opening into a poncho shape, its a very relaxed fit and suits all body shapes.

We love this elegant style and it has been a popular piece in the shop since its introduction. The practicality of shorter sleeves with a side seam, keeping the arms free, makes this a versatile piece for those who prefer not to wear poncho style shawls or capes looking for something a bit different! We love it over a casual comfortable outfit or dressed up for a smart contemporary look.

Last year, Bill also created the Petal Argyll which has a gorgeous delicate pattern across the chest.

The Argyll is also one of our staff favourites! Millie is wearing her Mustard Argyll on a sunny day from the shop in Edinburgh,  Mina is wearing a gorgeous red Argyll from the shop, Yolanda is wearing the new Ahearne colour, knitted in the Todd and Duncan Merino wool.
